There can be a very stressful experience for children to be in the hospital. A child who has never been hospitalized before doesn´t know what to expect, and a child who has already been in the hospital may be afraid based on previous experience. On International Children´s Day, 1st June, 2023, nursing students of the Faculty of Health Care (Catholic University in Ružomberok) organized activities led by Viera Mogorova and her husband Pavla Mogoru (he is a physiotherapy student at Trenčín University of A. Dubček). Together with the head of the Nursing department of the Faculty of Health Care in Ružomberok, Dr. Marcela Ižová and other nursing students (Simona Majerská, Eva Lužbeťáková and Natália Mačušová) they brought joy to the children at the Paediatric Clinic of the Military hospital – Faculty hospital in Ružomberok and also to the clients of Trojlístok Social Services Center in Ružomberok. Students made happy also patients at the Oncology clinic and Ward for long-term patients. We prepared Mimoň and little gifts for them thanks to Pavel Mogora, Marek Menich from Metro Zilina and medals. There is nothing more sincere than the joy that can be seen in the eyes of patients. „We are very happy that we were able to return to the hospital after a year and that we can once again spread joy not only to children, parents and staff but also to oncology and geriatric patients, “ said Marcela

Ižová. Geriatric patients had tears in their eyes, because they didn´t expect that someone would remember them on Children´s Day. However, seniors deserve encouragement and joy, because we are all children of our parents.
