The project aims a) to promote European integration as an important object of study, b) to address some of the main political, social and value-based challenges currently faced by the EU in connection to the Ukrainian crisis, and c) to identify implications and consequences of the crisis for the European integration. Its main objectives are: 1) to furnish students with a thorough knowledge about the ongoing armed conflict in eastern Ukraine and to examine the reactions of the EU in response to various developments in the Ukrainian crisis, 2) to improve understanding of the nature of the EU-Russia relations in the context of the Ukrainian crisis and consider the perspectives and possible scenarios of its development, 3) to clarify social capital’s role in determining how the EU responds to crisis and whether it is able to act in a unified manner.
